November 4, 2015
On November 5 from 5:00pm – 8:30pm, the
Vancouver Island Social Innovation Zone (VISIZ) will host Pitch It, an opportunity for students across Victoria’s largest higher education institutions to voice their social innovation ideas for impact. Open to all Camosun College, Royal Roads University, and University of Victoria students, participants will have 90 seconds to pitch to the judges and show their idea’s potential.
Impact: Pitch It is focused on giving back. They’re looking for ideas that tackle social issues or reinvest into social causes – working towards a better ecosystem on Vancouver Island.
In it to win it: The best pitches stand a chance to win. VISIZ is offering 10 prizes of $300 in seed funding to the most awesome entries.
Pitches should demonstrate:
Social Enterprise: Enterprising approaches and business strategies to solving social issues and maximizing impact.
Lasting Change: Potential for implementing long term solutions to social problems; short and long term goals are evident, as well as how the idea can continue past seed funding.
Social Innovation: New and creative approaches to solving complex social/environmental problems.
