Introducing Concordia's ULab Social Innovation Hub

From September to November 2016, Concordia University’s
Centre for Human Relations and Community Studies will be hosting a bilingual eight-week ULab Social Innovation Hub where individuals and groups from a variety of sectors will gather every Thursday morning to learn and innovate together. The aim of the ULab is to bring together a diverse group of local organizations and projects from a range of sectors for the purpose of learning, community-building and co-creation.

How it works

In 2015, MIT launched a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) called ULab – Transforming Business, Self and Society to facilitate people through a process of change that integrates social science, mindfulness and design thinking. Participants register for the online course and work with the material at their own pace and then meet in local, face-to-face learning hubs weekly to move through the process and co-create together.
For those who want to develop their projects further, Concordia’s
District 3 will offer next-stage developmental support for projects after the eight-week ULab hub is over.

Could this be for you?

– Do you and/or your organization have an idea, project or thoughts about a possible solution to a social challenge that you would like to develop further?
– Would you benefit from a structured change process to support the development of your idea as well as a community of co-learners and innovators?
– Are you interested in a learning process that allows you to realize the emerging future by engaging in deep learning about yourself, others and the wider environment in which we work and live?
