Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission underscored the central responsibility of the education sector to enable the realization of reconciliation with Indigenous communities across the country. Faced with these realities, many Canadian institutions of higher education are grappling to meaningfully address the weighty calls to action. Re-Code is involved in collaborative projects to accelerate the work that has begun, and grow this important journey.
An intensive program designed for universities and colleges that are looking for ways to improve their outcomes toward reconciliation and indigenization of policy, programs, services and governance. Partners include Yukon College (hosts), Vancouver Island University, Colleges and Institutes Canada, Universities Canada, and the McConnell Foundation’s Reconciliation team.
