About Jana Svedova
Jana is the Director of Impact Investing at the Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing at the Sauder School of Business. Jana has a background in the financial industry in wealth management and business banking, which inspired her interest in socially focused business. She has provided advisory and capacity building support to entrepreneurs and worked with philanthropists and policymakers on developing strategies to support the development of the social venture sector. Jana holds a BA in International Relations and an MBA from the University of British Columbia.
About Dr. James Tansey
James is an associate professor at the Sauder School of Business and the Executive Director, Sauder Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing. James founded SauderS3i, a centre at UBC focused on sustainability and social innovation. His current research focuses on emerging international markets for carbon exchange, impact investing and social innovation. Among many other things, James is also founder and CEO of Offsetters, a carbon management and offset company based in Vancouver and the official supplier of carbon offsets to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the first time in history the event has been carbon neutral.
