SFU Beedie summer semester in Social Enterprise (Ecuador)

Spend this Summer designing a social venture, learning Spanish, and living in South America, all while earning credits towards your degree!

Insight Global Education, along with partners at SFU’s Beedie School of Business, RADIUS SFU, and Impaqto Quito, will facilitate its first Semester in Social Enterprise (SSE), beginning in summer 2016.
This 10-week program (running May 18 to August 15, 2016), is designed to expose students to the world of social innovation in emerging nations. By participating in the program, students will develop a detailed understanding of how social entrepreneurs are shaping the future; how to work collaboratively and design solutions to diverse problems; and develop a deep sense of global citizenship. SSE is open to students of all academic backgrounds, and includes one upper division BUS course (3 credits) and one lower division SPAN course (3 credits). The deadline to apply is March 31, 2016.

In Ecuador (8 weeks)
– Work in small teams to design a social venture
– Travel and explore a truly diverse nation
– Develop in demand hard and soft skills
– Learn introductory Spanish (SPAN 100 equivalency)
– Live in the heart of Quito
In Vancouver (2 weeks)
– Study the fundamentals of social enterprise (BUS 490: 3 credits)
– BUS 490 can count towards an E and I concetration
– Understand the SE scene at a local level
– Learn from seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts
