St. Paul's University College: Big Ideas Challenge

Are you interested in conceiving an idea for environmental or social good? You, or a team of up to four, have the opportunity to pitch your idea to a panel of high-profile experts.

St. Paul’s University College’s
Big Ideas Challenge for Social Good is a call to entrepreneurial-minded youth with an interest in developing innovative approaches to pressing social and environmental problems.

Grand prizes

Up to 10 fully funded GreenHouse fellowships, which include accommodation at
St. Paul’s GreenHouse from May to August — as well as access to programming, training, and mentorship.

Key dates

Sunday, February 21, 2016 – Deadline for submitting your Expression of Interest (PLEASE NOTE: Though the official deadline has passed, there may be opportunity to submit — email Brendan Wylie-Toal at bwylieto@uwaterloo.ca to inquire.)
Tuesday, February 23, 2016 – Up to 20 applicants will be chosen to participate in the Big Ideas Challenge
Wednesday, Feb 24, 2016 – Learn how to craft and deliver the perfect pitch (by invitation only)
Wednesday, March 2, 2016 – Practice your pitch session (by invitation only)
Monday, March 7, 2016 – All applicants must be available from 1pm – 5pm for the pitch event (by invitation only)
Tuesday, March 8, 2016 – Celebratory dinner from 5-7pm (by invitation only)

Eligibility criteria

In order to participate in the Big Ideas Challenge: You and your team must be between the ages of 18-29. At least one member of your team must be available to take a full-time residency at St. Paul’s GreenHouse from May 3 to August 31 2016.
