VISIZ Presents: Social Innovation Symposium hosted at Royal Roads University
How can we, working with our institutions of higher education, work together to create a social innovation ecosystem on Vancouver Island?
The Vancouver Island Social Innovation Zone is pleased to invite you to an exciting day on social innovation education. Social innovation is a new way of thinking about how we approach persistent problems faced by society. Educational institutions must restructure curricula to align with the skills, knowledge, and competencies integral to facilitating graduates ready to make the necessary social changes that our Island, our Country, and our Planet require.
With participation from the five universities and colleges on Vancouver Island, this unique Symposium offers an opportunity to learn about what social innovation looks like at each of the post secondary institutions on the Island and explore possible collaborations.
The day will also feature a keynote address from Wendy Cukier, Vice President of Research and Innovation at Ryerson University. Dr. Cukier’s research focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and social change, and in her role as Vice President, Research and Innovation at Ryerson she also leads the Ashoka Changemaker Steering Committee.
This event is free to attend and lunch and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
